Neputa mura est un musée consacré au festival des lanternes (neputa matsuri), mais aussi à d’autres spécialités de la ville de Hirosaki. L’on y découvre de grands chars surmontés de figurines ou de scènes mythiques reproduites sur d’impressionnants éventails en papier, et éclairés de l’intérieur par des lanternes. En dehors de ce musée, cet art traditionnel se déploie tous les ans au début du mois d’août dans les rue de Hirosaki à l’occasion du neputa matsuri.
