Located at the west from Kyoto, the Imperial Villa Katsura includes sophisticated Japanese gardens, a palace, a tea house and pavilions – all of them date back to the beginning of Edo era. Once belonging to the Hachijo-Nomiya dynasty, this cultural asset is now handled by the Imperial Household Agency which allows visits by appointment only.
