Hirosaki

Nakacho is an ancient residential neighborhood of samurai’s mid class who served the Tsugaru clan during Edo era. Located at the Hirosaki Castle’s north, only some of the ancient residences are still standing and open to the public. This i s the case for the Ishiba residence, the Iwata residence, the Umeda residence, and the Ito residence.

⇒ Take the Tamenobu bus line (outbound) until the Tsugaru-han Neputa-mura stop. The Nakacho neighborhood is located at the north of Hirosaki’s castle and park.
