Shinsekai

Osaka

Shinsekai is a district at the south of Osaka and whose name means “new world” in Japanese. Built in 1912 in order to show new approaches and vision, this district once illustrated a renewal era and now makes a huge contrast with the rest of Japan. Today, after getting older and older, it is considered as a really kitsch place: an atmosphere as fun for some, as eerie for others.
