Symbol of Japan’s reconstruction after the war, Tokyo Tower was built in 1958 by Taichu Naito, specialist in earthquake-resistant structures and to who we also owe Sapporo’s TV tower and Nagoya’s one. In contrast to popular misconceptions, Tokyo Tower is not a reproduction of Paris’s Eiffel Tower at all – just look at it to see that there is no ressemblance. It has four legs plus a central tube for a better resistance against earthquakes. With a 333-meter height, this tower offers two accessible observatories from which you can see the Mount Fuji some days.
